HOW TO ARRIVE IN ELBA ISLAND |
You can reach the island of Elba by car where on arrival to Piombino Marittima, two different shipping companies (Toremar and Moby Lines) offer comfortable ferry services that during the tourist season navigate hourly,on a daily basis. In only one hour circa, the ferries cover the 10Km distance from the mainland arriving in a chioce of ports; Portoferraio, Porto Azzurro, Rio Marina. For a more rapid sollution, a Hydrofoil service operates from Piombino to Portoferraio (via Cavo) in only 35 mins. of navigation. This service is available to passengers without automobiles only.

From North:
Freeway A12 direction Genova-Livorno. Exit at Rosignano. Continue on the S.S Aurelia until exit Venturina - Isola d’Elba and from here continue to Piombino Marittima.

From North-Est:
Freeway A1 direction Bologna-Firenze-Pisa-Livorno, exit at Rosignano. Continue on the S.S Aurelia until exit Venturina-Isola d’Elba and from here continue to Piombino Marittima. |

In alternative: take the s.g.c. Firenze-Pisa-Livorno, exit at Firenze Signa and continue on the S.S (super street) until the Collesalvetti exit. Re-enter the freeway and continue to Rosignano Marittimo and there, take the s.s to Venturina and therefore, from here continue to Piombino Marittima.

By Train: |

By train you arrive at Piombino Marittima. At Campiglia you have to change the train-line Pisa–Rome, from here local trains or buses will take you to the port.

By Airplane:

It is possible to reach the island also by plane; in fact there is an airport on the Elba Island in proximity of Marina di Campo, in the town of La Pila, where, connections with various Italian and European cities are active.
